The most cleanest
town in Paraguay.
Atyra was built in 1539 by Domingo Martínez de
Irala.
The name of Atyrá was created out of the indian
language " Guaraní". It consists of two parts: "
ATY HA"
( "ATY" means= meeting and "HA" means= place)
The history tells, that chieftains were meeting
at that place, where today you find the city
hall.
Today this town stay´s alive because of selling
leather, wood processings and because of the
tourism.
Nationwide known as the cleanest town of
Paraguay, about 16.000 inhabitants and the
location in the 3rd administration district.
