Many of the Paraguayan traditions go back into
XVII and XVIII centuries at the time of Jesuit and
Franciscan missionaries, who left splendid
architectonic constructions and sculptures of the
Hispanic-Guaraní baroque style.
Raquel Lebrn made herself known as
a harp concert performer not only in Paraguay, but
also in many Latin-American countries, as well as in
South Afica, Europe and Canada, giving many concerts
and lectures about the features of the Paraguayan
harp. In Germany, in particular, she
performed in Berlin, Bonn, Cologne and Mainz and at
the Opera Theater in Wiesbaden. She also
participated in a film made by the ARD (German TV),
a documental titled Harps of Paraguay, at the
studios of the Voice of Germany (/DW-Deutsche
Welle/). During a tour she made in that country, she
was assigned Ambassadress of the Paraguayan Music by
INTER NATIONS.
As a harp concert performer, she won many
international awards. The repertoire of Raquel
Lebron embraces, besides the most known compositions
for this instrument, traditional and stylized
folklore, Latin-American music, international music
with orchestra and some classic music.
